Message From The President

The Paola Rotary Club has a long history of service both to the local community and through many international projects. This year as we celebrate 75 years of service we are continuing our efforts to serve both our local and world community. Our theme for this year is "Making Dreams Come True for Children".

The Paola Rotary Club weekly meeting includes singing, luncheon, and a program or speaker with presentations on items of interest to our membership. Members take turns hosting programs and speakers. Some of the notable guests this past year have included Kansas Congressman Jim Ryun, Kansas State Insurance Commissioner Sandy Praeger, and University of Kansas Athletic Director Lew Perkins.

The Paola Rotary club has about 40 members and together we provide the following service projects:

Current Local Projects:

Sponsor of the Miami County Fair Parade since 1949

Luncheon for the Workers at the Miami County Fair

Steak dinner for area farmers and ranchers at the

annual Rotary Farmers Night in October.

Financial support for:

Little League

Boys and Girls State

Youth Friends

Boy Scouts

Big Brothers/Big Sisters

Senior Citizens Center

Life Line

Sponsor local high school students to Rotary Youth Leadership Camp

Other local projects and organizational support

Current International Service projects include:

In cooperation with the Shawnee Mission Rotary Club we provide financial support for two high school students in Agua Prieta, Mexico

We provide financial support for an orphanage in China (SANCS).

Sponsoring Club for outgoing Foreign Exchange Students (avg 1 per yr)

Sponsoring Club for incoming Foreign Exchange Students (avg 1 every other year)
